Okocha Levels the Score

Charles Okocha emerged victorious in Friday night's celebrity boxing rematch against Portable at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The bout, promoted as "Unfinished Business," was arranged after Portable won their first meeting. Okocha had insisted he deserved another chance, and the rematch finally gave him the opportunity to settle the score.

Fight Ends in Chaos

The contest quickly descended into disorder.

Instead of a clean boxing match, both men became involved in grappling and physical exchanges that repeatedly interrupted the action. Referees struggled to restore order as tensions escalated inside the ring.

Before the opening round had concluded, Portable left the ring, forcing officials to stop the contest. He was subsequently disqualified, handing victory to Charles Okocha.

Portable Explains Why He Walked Away

Shortly after the fight, Portable defended his decision to abandon the contest.

The singer alleged that Okocha repeatedly wrestled and bit him during the bout, claiming the fight had moved away from boxing. Portable later shared videos showing marks on his body and insisted he had been dominating the contest before the incident occurred.

Portable also apologised to fans and organisers for walking out but maintained that he felt the fight had become unfair.

Rivalry That Started Over Money

The feud between the two entertainers dates back to 2023, when Portable accused Okocha of failing to pay him after a business arrangement.

Okocha denied owing the singer the amount claimed, insisting there was no formal agreement between them, although he acknowledged transferring ₦5 million to Portable during the dispute.

Their disagreement eventually spilled into the boxing ring, making the rivalry one of Nigeria's most public celebrity feuds.

Fans React to the Dramatic Finish

Videos of the fight spread rapidly across social media, with fans expressing mixed reactions.

Some congratulated Okocha for finally getting revenge after losing the first encounter, while others questioned whether the bout should have continued after the repeated grappling and confusion in the ring.

The dramatic ending has also reignited debate about celebrity boxing in Nigeria, with some calling for stricter officiating and clearer rules to prevent future controversies.

What's Next?

Neither Charles Okocha nor Portable has ruled out another showdown.

Given the controversy surrounding the finish, many fans are already calling for a decisive third fight to finally settle the rivalry.

Whether that happens remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the Okocha–Portable feud continues to captivate Nigerian entertainment fans both inside and outside the boxing ring.
