Tinubu Appoints Fayose to Head REA, Names 25 Others to Key Federal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh round of appointments into key Federal Government agencies and commissions, naming 26 individuals to leadership positions across 10 public institutions.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said all appointments take immediate effect.

Fayose Takes Over Rural Electrification Agency

Among the most notable appointments is that of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, who has been named Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

The REA is responsible for expanding electricity access to underserved and rural communities through grid extension, mini-grids and renewable energy projects.

Fayose's appointment has drawn significant public attention because of his long political career and his previous association with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Other Key Appointments

President Tinubu also approved appointments across several strategic agencies, including:

• Major General Junaid Bindawa (Rtd.) – Chairman, National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.

• New board chairmen and members for agencies involved in housing, agriculture, power, economic regulation and national development.

According to the Presidency, the appointments are aimed at strengthening governance, improving institutional performance and supporting the implementation of the administration's development agenda.
