Davido Enters His 'Crown Era' With Release of Sixth Studio Album Oriadé
Global Afrobeats icon Davido has officially released his sixth studio album, Oriadé, a deeply personal project that sees the Nigerian superstar reconnect with his African roots while celebrating a new chapter in his career.

Davido Unveils Sixth Studio Album
Nigerian music sensation Davido has officially dropped his sixth studio album, Oriadé, marking another major milestone in a career that has helped shape the global rise of Afrobeats.
The 13-track project arrives just over a year after his chart-topping fifth album, 5ive, and showcases an artist who says he is fully embracing what he calls his "crown era."
The Meaning Behind Oriadé
The album's title, Oriadé, comes from the Yoruba words "Ori" (head or destiny) and "Adé" (crown), loosely translating to "the head that wears the crown."
For Davido, the title reflects years of hard work, personal growth, and his belief that he is stepping into the most accomplished phase of his career.
Speaking about the album, the singer said he wanted to create music that reconnects listeners with authentic African sounds instead of chasing Western validation.
A Celebration of African Music
Unlike many globally focused releases, Davido says Oriadé intentionally leans into African identity.
The album blends Afrobeats with sounds and influences from across the continent while featuring collaborations with artists including Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Leon Thomas, Jazzwrld, GL_Ceejay, and Nigerian rising star Llona, whom Davido believes is destined for international recognition.
Davido Reflects on His Journey
Now 33, Davido has built one of Africa's most successful music careers.
With multiple Grammy nominations, sold-out arena shows across Europe, Africa, and North America, and countless international hit records, he says he has learned to ignore criticism and focus on making music that feels authentic.
"I wanted us to get back to the original music that we were making before the Western world came to find us," Davido explained while discussing the inspiration behind the album.
Fans React to the New Release
Within hours of its release, fans flooded social media with reactions, praising the album's production, cultural themes, and collaborations.
Many listeners described Oriadé as one of Davido's most mature projects yet, applauding his decision to spotlight emerging African talent alongside established international artists.
Another Milestone for Afrobeats
The release of Oriadé further strengthens Afrobeats' global momentum, with Davido continuing to stand alongside artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tems in taking African music to audiences around the world.
As streaming numbers begin to climb and fans dissect the album's standout tracks, Oriadé is expected to become one of the biggest African music releases of the year.
